Hannes Rickli

It is exciting when a jellyfish floats across the screen or a fox pads into view – otherwise there is not much happening unless you’re in the know. Hannes Rickli’s multi-channel installation is a time-lapse video showing unfiltered images of the RemOs underwater research station on Spitzbergen. Rickli is referencing the vast data bank being gathered there since September 2012 both above and below water in order to chart environmental changes. At the same time, he is addressing the limitations of evaluating such quantities of data.
